Listen…Can We Talk?
I certainly cannot presume to speak for all of mankind, but I certainly can speak for myself! My little corner of the planet has been just plain nuts, for several weeks now. Am I the only one? This has easily been one of the most challenging seasons of life that I have experienced in…well, EVER.
I’ve literally had the opportunity to utilize every single survival skill that I have ever learned. In retrospect, many of the hardships that I have experienced and endured in the past, equipped me to deal with the shenanigans that have been trending in my corner of the world.
When I think back on those experiences, it was very difficult at the time to see what good could possibly come out of those excruciatingly painful and potentially devastating circumstances. Perspective is everything. Had I not experienced those things, I would have been ill prepared for these more recent shenanigans.
At any rate, if one dares to silence the voice of introspection, and look around these days it appears that 50 % of the world has lost their collective minds. Increasingly we’re hearing about horrific domestic violence, human trafficking, murders, murder-suicide, stalking, child murder…
Then there’s mental illness, gun violence, bullying…it appears that our universal moral compass is rusted out. It’s all very surreal. It seems that everyday in the news we’re hearing about another young married mother or fiance’ being brutally murdered by her spouse or intimate partner. Sometimes, the victim is even pregnant – with her murderer’s child.
Phew! Having just revisited all of that ugliness, I do believe that a huge dose of INSPIRATION is warranted.. I love quotes. I really do. I’m a firm believer that there is no end to what we can learn from the life experiences of others!

To recap, this blog post has taken a peek at the horrendous things that mankind is capable of doing to one another: domestic violence, human trafficking, sexual assault, the alarming increase in the “ outting” or exposure of ministry leaders ( across denominational lines) who are guilty of perpetrating domestic violence, and child sexual abuse. The deafening silence from the church at large – across denominations cannot be denied or justified. This silence has only served to benefit the abuser. After all of that, it was definitely time for a dose of inspiration!
