Grace and Peace, Beloved! it has seemingly been for-ev-er since I’ve posted a new article! I was scratching my head, trying to figure out, exactly why this is the case. Yes, a lot has happened in recent months, but I enjoy writing, so what’s really going on?!
It occurred to me that since May of this year, I have been researching and producing weekly Face Book Live Broadcasts: “Shatter the Silence! Stop Domestic Violence. Each week has focused specifically on a different aspect of Domestic Violence. To date, there have been in excess of 17 broadcasts completed “Live” on Face Book. Additionally, I’ve relocated across country and adopted a rigorous fitness/training schedule which involves kickboxing or hiking trails (4-5 miles per day) 5 days per week, and resting two days.
I have also recently returned from a two day training in Norfolk, Virginia (“ Healthy Churches, Healthy Families”), which was phenomenal. It was also a wonderful networking opportunity. It provided a platform upon which to meet others who are passionate about addressing abuse of all types within our churches, across racial and denominational lines.
The Lord has expanded the vision that He has given us regarding ministry around the subject of abuse both within His church and society at large. Rather, I am grasping more of the vision than was initially apparent to me. I’m certain that the Lord has been clear this entire time regarding what He is calling me to do in this season. This mantle is certainly not a “popular” one, but it is indeed vital to the overall health of His church, and touches every aspect of the vineyard. There is no demographic within the church that is unaffected by Domestic Violence, or Family Violence.
It has become very, very clear that our mandate is indeed a “global” mandate. Domestic Violence, Family Violence, and Intimate Partner Violence ( whichever you choose to call it) has reached epidemic proportions worldwide. According to a United Nations report released in 2017, the most dangerous place for a woman, worldwide is in her own home. This is the shocking reality. We know also that men are victims too. In fact, anyone can be a victim, and anyone can be an abuser.
In response to the global mandate that rests upon us, steps have been taken to renew my passport. Normally this is a very lengthy process, however we have received the new passport relatively quickly. We are beginning to receive invitations from ministry leaders in other nations to provide training regarding Family Violence to their ministry teams and congregants. So far, we have accepted invitations to Kenya, Africa as well as Solomon Islands in the South Pacific. Once firm travel dates for the conference in Kenya are established, we will apply for and secure the visa. Travel will tentatively begin in Spring/Summer 2020.
Our Weekly FB Live broadcasts typically are presented on Sunday afternoons: 3 pm PST, 4 pm MST, 5 pm CST and 6 pm EST. They air live on my “Cheryle Richardson” FB Page. Once they have aired, they are shared to my other social media accounts: 1. (FB) Lion of Judah Global Outreach Ministries 2. (FB) Apostle Cheryle L. Richardson 3. Instagram: Judahsroarr 4. Here is the flyer for the next scheduled broadcast, as well as flyers from recent broadcasts:
Additionally, at the end of May of this year, in response to the Lord’s direction, we established a private, faith based FB Domestic Violence Support Group. Only those in the group can see who belongs to the group and why is posted in the group. There are many viable even support groups on social media. Generally, they tend to have hundreds and even thousands of members. Often the focus is on simply re-hashing the abuse experienced. It is our commitment to keep the size of the group more intimate (small) in size, thereby better affording a safe space for group members to share their story. The name of our group is “Dominion Over Domestic Violence”. The ideal member is someone who is a ministry leader or leader in the secular world, that has a history of domestic violence, and either needs support, or desires to give support and encouragement to others. It is imperative that those who lead others also have a safe place to share and to be transparent. Many in leadership positions have never really addressed their own abuse histories. The Dominion Over Domestic Violence Support Group is an ideal digital environment to share with both ministerial and clinical support provided. The key difference between it and other similar groups, is that the focus is healing and deliverance, and not on simply re-hearsing the trauma experienced. Certainly, all who desire to receive support or to give it to others – “leader” or not, is welcome! You are absolutely not alone. 💜💜
Your prayerful and practical support of ministry is greatly appreciated. If you want to sow into this work you may do so via CashApp: $Judahsroarrr or via PayPal: paypal.me/Judahsroarrr. There is no amount too large or to small. There is much work to be done, and the work must not cease. If we all work together we can get ahead of this scourge against mankind.
